Space heat causes fruits and vegetables to deteriorate very quickly after harvest. Therefore, all fruits and vegetables must be refrigerated immediately after harvest and before packaging in Prolong® MA/MH bags to eliminate space heat. Packaging protocols contain recommendations for post-harvest processing procedures, including temperature ranges for pre-chilling and storage temperatures of fruits and vegetables prior to packaging. These procedural recommendations have been accepted worldwide.

Recommended packaging methods using Prolong® MA/MH Packaging are based on real experience; however, we recommend that trials using Prolong® MA Packing be performed under actual local conditions prior to commercial use.
